After spending much of this summer on the road meeting families, educators, community leaders, and other stakeholders on Groundwork's Roadshow Tour, I am excited to reconvene advocates from around the state in Columbus on September 26th at our Momentum Institute. This is our second Momentum event and our team has put together an agenda that will help attendees build their advocacy toolkit as we approach the 136th General Assembly and upcoming state operating budget deliberations.
We'll kick off the morning with a national perspective from Jason Sabo, Founder of Frontera Strategy. A panel will immediately follow that zooms into Ohio's political landscape and features:
Dan McCarthy, Principal at North Hill Consulting
Allison Lawlor, Associate at Sean P. Dunn & Associates
Aaron Pickrell, Managing Partner of Remington Road Group
Alan Bannister, Associate at Remington Road Group
Building from our conversation about the state of Ohio politics and predictions for the 136th General Assembly, we'll transition to a conversation brought together by Convergence Collaborative. This panel will share strategies and case studies of finding common ground across differences, including party divides.
Groundwork has been working hard to engage unique audiences with messages that are specific to their experience and viewpoint into the early childhood system. We will invite Rick Carfagna, Senior Vice President of Government Relations at the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and Shelby County Commissioner Julie Ehemann to share why access to child care matters for their members and constituents. During this session, Groundwork will also preview a new advocacy tool we will be debuting with our stakeholders in October and offering through the state budget cycle and beyond!
We will end the day with an interactive communications workshop hosted by Odd Duck Communications that will empower our attendees to better tell their stories in a way that resonates with Ohio's policymakers.
Tickets are selling quickly. I'm happy to answer any questions about the event at bboulton@groundworkohio.org and hope to see you there! Registration available here.
